Founded in 1950, the “Sfântul Arhanghel Mihail” Municipal Hospital offers medical assistance and emergency services, both for the people in the city and for those throughout the country. With a capacity of 290 beds, the hospital is the clinical basis for the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”. Winner of many international awards in medicine, the institution became a promoter of renewable energy in 2015. Vacuum tube solar collectors were built on the hospital building. The system provides hot water for the 470 hospital employees and significantly reduces electricity consumption.
